Well guys...
I've been making knives for a little while now, envying the guys who earn money at it.
So I went out on a limb this evening and bought a knifemaker membership. Posted a knife for sale over in FS: Fixed Blades.

I hope this works! I don't feel like a real knifemaker. I mean, I don't do this for a living. Kinda feels like I'm playing too big for my britches. But I made a few knives I'd like to sell, and the way you do that is buy the maker membership. Right? I'm not out of line on this, am I?

Man, I hope this works. :D

Hey Mike, Great decision. Its nice to be a paid member isnt it? I still havent offered a knife for sale but Ive forged several blanks and done some heat treating, sharpening, refurbishing etc. It pays off quick really.

Bruce, can I ask what's holding you back? I mean, ABS MS, 3,600 BF posts... I'm sure collectors would knock each other down trying to be the first to type "I'll take it".
There's a large market ready to pay your asking price. Why not sell on BF?

If the reason is something personal or inappropriate, pretend I never asked :D

Thanks,
Mike

Mike, I just havent had an inventory. Im always trying to fill orders but I did buy some CPM154 from Pops and plan to make some fixed blade knives for sale here. They will be a semi-production of some of my own patterns. They will get the Paul Bos HT and more than likely synthetic handles. Im wanting to keep the price down so the working man can afford one. Thanks for asking.

I just signed up too. For some reason, I chose the Platinum instead of the knifemakers membership. Perhaps because i haven't made anything good enough to sell yet........embarrasing, ain't it?:D

I too am a new maker selling fixed blade to friends but I think I really want to make folding knives. I have made 10 or so. I don't really feel like much compared to some of these guys but everyone starts somewhere right.

I think that even if you dont make knives you should support the forum.
