I ordered a combo through Surefire as well, and I was told that shipping would begin around mid-July.
I ordered my set before TAD even announced that they would be selling the combo's, so my guess is that TAD should have them about the same time or a little after Surefire begins to deliver.
Just a guess, though; those guys at TAD are FULL of surprises!

Have you held the production CQC-8 and compared it to the custom model? Are they similar?
They appear almost identical. I wonder how thick the liners are...

This addictive behavior with knives is killing me........
no matter how many I have, and I have quite a few custom and production, I yearn for more.

I've handled the Production version and Customs. Both are awesome knives.
The production version does differ ever so slightly from the custom, but you'd pretty much have to know what your looking for to see it.
They are both four inche bladed folders.
The construction of the body differs slightly. Mainly the screw pattern, the .050 liners and the longer balckspacer in the production version.
That having been said, the production version is every bit the knife the Custom is.
I'm planning on getting three. (At least two people are getting Surefires for Christmas)
