and ordered a Black Izula and the Sharpshooter sheath to go with it. Ive been looking to replace my fixed blade EDC for awhile and after much reading and drooling, I placed my order this morning. Now the wait begins.;) Looked hard at the RAt-5 as a down the road purchase. It seem that between the two it would be all that a man would need for the bush.

First, Welcome to the family!!!

Second, you may want to look at the RC-6 instead of the RC-5. From what I gather around here is that the 6 is a better all around camp knife. The 5 is a BEAST that will cut you out of a bank vault but not the best camp knife.

Hopefully Tony and/or some of the more experienced folks will chime in on this.

Welcome to the family and Congrats on the Izula.
Stormstaff cover it though(thanks).... I prefer the RC6 over the RC5 just due to the Utility factor of the blade and the flat grind vs. the RC5 saber grind not counting the tad bit of extra length in the blade .the RC6 can handle being Baton,it is a ok chopper but the RC5 excels a little better at chopping but is held back by it short blade....
If I was reach for 1 RC blade to take camping it would be the RC6 without a doubt.

Welcome to the family, and you will love the Izula. Use mine everyday, and it has yet to fail me!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I got my Izula about half a year ago and still can't get over how useful this has been to me.

Thanks for the info, I will take a hard look at the RC-6 as my next RAT purchase.

You'll likely end up getting them all, so just get it over with and buy them all at once! You'll save money on shipping.
