The weather was gorgeous (a little chilly for Florida but I love it) today so I was in the mood to go out and beat on a couple of blades. First off, my 12" Tramontina machete. This thing never ceases to amaze me. I can't believe how such a cheap piece of steel can cut so well. I love my Trail Hawk but honestly, my tram cuts WAY better, is lighter, and is just more versatile for me.
Second was a knife that I love but I almost never take into the woods, my RC3 MIL-S. Normally it resides in my urban edc bag, but now it's coming into the wilds with me more often! I have never been a big fan of any serrations on a bushcraft knife but I'll tell you what, it preformed fantastic. Feather sticks, light batoning, a little fine carving, it did great.
I think these two will be going with me on my next extended outing (with a Mora and a SAK Farmer thrown in my pack
).
