I'm currently looking at getting a new knife after my old magnum linerlock lost it's pivot screw, and attempted to dump it's blade on my foot.

while looking at a wide variety of knives, I found these (the folding knives, not the tool cards) spesificaly the shorter bladed model here

does anyone have any experience with these knives?

I've handled them at a sporting goods store and looked at reviews (Nutnfancy does one for one of the models and seemed to like it). I was not impressed.

One of my life philosophies is "combo" devices do all things mediocre and no one thing well.

I carry a separate light and a separate knife. I want to know that when I need them they are there and will work.

I think these knives are in the $50 range. I'd rather have a Tenacious and a variety of lights on me instead.

YMMV.

If you get one - please post your thoughts after you have had some time to test it.

hmmm, I was only considering it because it looks like a good idea. unless I'm sure it's a decent bit of kit, I'm going to steer clear of it, atleast for the moment, and get something I can be sure will work (I'm looking at the byrd series, along with the rough rider slipjoints. I've just got to decide about weather I want a harder use modern style, or the lighter use older style.)
either way it's supplementing a leatherman and a mora fixed blade in my outdoors kit.

unfortuneately at the moment I don't have the cash to buy something and find out it's not up to scratch, and needs replacing. or the cash to get a decent top end knife I 100% know I can trust (spyderco, benchmade ect)

Don't like what I've seen and handled so far. If you want a small knife and a good small light get a Boker Trance and either a Jetbeam or Fenix light. You'll be much better off.
