Was just sitting here looking at my Delica 4 and Endura 4 and inside the hole on both you can see the markings where it was drilled out. So then I check my Tenacious and it being the cheaper one the hole is clean and tool mark free? You'd think the more expensive one's would look better inside the spydie hole?

Different knives made in different places, in different factories, with different types of equipment. And different materials which some are easier to process and others much more difficult. Then there are different employees, probably with different quality control standards, and even the day of the week probably dictates final quality to some extent.

I know that probably isn't very helpful but it probably doesn't effect function and isn't considered a flaw. Likely not very noticeable either if you're honest with yourself.

No doesn't affect the function but seriously when you pay for something that's quality and a respective company like Spyderco even if it is manufactured by a different company even one that they use overseas, you'd think quality would still be something that should concern them. Not arguing your point just my opinion.

Rich- I used to look for these things but now, unless it's a major flaw, I just grab and go!

Thanks. Guess you're both right maybe I'm being to picky about it. Thank to you both for your replies

Nah.^ I understand.
One time I took w/d sandpaper to the Spyderhole. Came out nice.
You are welcome.

All my Japan models come like that. Probably shouldn't come like that but its a pretty easy fix. I use wet/dry sandpaper on all my japan spydie holes. Wrap a little piece around a pencil or marker and work it around the inside of the hole. You can get it as smooth as you like. Use the pencil or something and not your finger or you will mark up the blade and round off the edges.

This is something i dealt with too. Inside the hole wasnt finished and looked 'scalely'. Both were delica4s, i just got a small piece of sandpaper and stuck my pinky in there and it smoothed it clean. It wasnt a big deal to me after i was able to fix it. And i know what your saying richbatt, it might be something Spyerco is unaware of right now. Wouldnt hurt to take a pic of it and send it to them or post it here. Sal's been on here lately. Ones ive had in the past didnt have that problem, so im sure its a honest mistake on the line. Im sure they pump the frn models out like crazy over there.

I tried to get some photos of the markings but my camera doesn't pick up the details good enough to show what I'm seeing.

It has been posted before (the marking picture) and seems no harm to functionality so folks normally take it as it is.
No harm showing what concerns you as it might be not what others have seen before.
