Hey guys I found a leatherman micra some years ago and never messed with it much. I want to put it on my keychain now but the knife/file side tools are rusted closed and I cant get them out. I soaked it in wd-40 for a couple days but it loosened some rust but its still stuck.

What can or should I do? I pried the file out using anther leatherman but I can only get it 1/3 out and its stiff. I had to dig the flat head under it and pry it up. I cant even get it half way up. I cant pry the other tools like the knife because I cant get A grip and don't want to break anything. Thanks for the help.

Unless you like the challenge, send it to Leatherman warranty.

Just send it in. If you really want to get it open though, I get stuck blades open with needle nose pliers after at least a day of soaking in WD40. I've never had one snap on me this way, but it probably will eventually. Just go slow, you're carefully forcing it open, NOT just yanking it.

I would soak it in Coca-Cola for at least 24 hours. Switching out the Coke half way through for fresh stuff. It should eat away at the rust. Give it a quick cleaning with dish soap and water to see how the progress is and repeat as necessary.

Naval jelly will take care of that rust in no time. Also even though rust isn't covered I'm sure Leatherman's CS will still take care of you just give them a call.
