Do they make a specific set of small tools for folding knives? For example if I half to tighten or loosen the torgue screw, or take apart the knife for cleaning etc...?

The benchmade bluebox?

I have a Craftsman mini driver that includes torx, slotted, and philips. I don't remember the price, but around $10 I think. I also have a BM blue box. I am sure you can get a mini driver with hex bits as well from your local hardware store if that is the type of folder you have.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you buy two of whatever you need. The first time you want to tighten a pivot screw that has a screw on each side, and the opposite screw turns when you are trying to tighten the other, you'll need two drivers.

Home depot has a little set in a red, black and clear case,it cost about 5 dollars and has small philips, torx, hex and straight .I really like it but the case is kinda crappy but hell for 5 bucks what would you expect. I have never found this set on the home dopot web site but they have tons of them at the store just not anywhere near the screwdrivers they are always near the front of the store by the cashiers for some reason.

Case also make a knife care kit. Comes in a nice strong fold over nylon bag. Contains Flitz polish, a small sharpening stone, a bunch of cleaning rods, a needle applicator full of tuff-glide, a lint free cloth and another lint free cloth soaked in tuff-glide and kept in an air tight resealable bag.

I use it all the time.

I just picked up a torx set today. First went to an ACE hardware (no home depot nearby) and they had a folding deal with torx and some hex drivers as well. About 15 bucks, and it only went down to T8. After looking at it, I realized I needed to go down to T6 size for some knife applications. The guy recommended I go to radio shack down the road. Sure enough, they have a set of 20 bits w/ a driver, 15.99. Cheap shit for sure, and I know I could do better online, but I was desperate to put my ZDP shallot into tip-up mode.

Home Depot (Husky) and Lowes (Kobalt) have small torx sets for like 8 bucks
I have both, I prefer the Kobalt one because I twisted one of the bits on the Husky one, Its also an aluminum handle and you can store all 4 bits inside it.

ACE has a nice T5 - T10 kit for under $20 with a lifetime warranty.

At some point I'll purchase a second T10 to go with it. Zippered pouch holds 12 total tools.

Awesome replies everyone, extremley helpful, this week I am going to do some shopping for some kits. Very nice again thank you for the replies!

I'd say that if you have to really torque on the screws, go with the Kobalt. The Husky is good for regular work, but they will chip/bend if you work them too hard. It's happened to me on other work, but not on knives.

thx - cpr

I Like the kobalt as well, it is very handy and very portable.

I picked up a B-Square screw driver set and added a set of the small torx bits. Now it works for all things that cut and go bang.;)

It's hard to beat that Husky 8-1 driver. As mentioned, you can get them at Home Depot for well less than $10.

In my opinion, if the TORX set doesn't go down to at least T-4, it's useless for working on folders. Most jobs will require around a T-6, but I've found a number of folders which use the T-4.

If memory serves, the BM Blue Box once goes down to T-6 or maybe T-5... as do most other kits.

Ditto. I had the Husky one, and kinda "stripped" the bit holder on it (which is plastic) from too much torque.

Picked up the Kobalt one at Lowe's and its much more solidly constructed.
