Surprisingly I like the carved look. It adds quite a bit to the utilitarian Kydex. I would think it would be pretty easy (for me anyway) to make those carvings look kind of cheesy but yours look good.

I'm not as crazy about the inlays but they do look good. Just not my thing. I think it's the mix of natural and synthetic materials I don't care for. I'm the same way on knives, I don't personally care for handles with mixed natural and synthetic materials.

What is that onlay you have in the top of the first picture? Brown flames on tan sheath? I like the looks of that one quite a bit.

Good looking stuff,
SDS

Edit to add: Never mind my question above, I just looked at your website, very nice stuff. I like the flame stuff a lot. I like that subdued flame pattern really well.

Nice work, David!! I've always thought your sheaths were top quality. Definitely enjoyed meeting you and your lovely bride at Blade!!

I think the carving looks great! Please, what technique are you using?

I think the stingray inlay is one of the 4 bet sheths I've ever seen. I really like the juxtaposition of materials. I don't know why I don't feel the same way about the snake.... maybe too nuch color contrast for me taste.

It is obvious you've taken great care and skill in making these. I think they're great.

Awesome work as usual brother Hog! :D The flamed HOG is my favorite.

I still hope that scumbag who stole that stuff gets one up the........ :o

But, but, but....Kydex is meant to be ugly so oldtimers can make fun of us young whippersnappers with our lifeless plastic- now what will they make fun of????

Great looking sheaths, I have had similar ideas that I have not gotten off of the ground yet- thanks for the extra inspiration!

David could you please post a pic of one of your sheaths in carbonfiber or even a piece of the material. I am trying to decide between that and Kydex. Thanks

Thanks for all the complements everybody.

Here are some carbon fiber print pics.

Are you using two layers of kydex for the inlay or is the other material against the blade?

Do you need special rivets to make it through the 4 layers of kydex on some of those sheaths? if so, where do they come from?

great stuff!
