So is there a tool set that you guys use to tighten clip screws or remove scales and such? Something with the little torx bits? I found one on Amazon that goes down to T4-15. Any thing else I should look for? Any Allen type screws pop up?
Thanks

Most Spydercos if not all use Torx. I started with a Home Depot Husky Driver wish 4 double sided bits (8 sizes) but if you want the good stuff some of us use the Wiha brand. Good stuff. Check them out.

I've owned both Wiha and Wera brand tools for years and can attest to their high quality. Personally I gravitate more to my Wiha drivers (full drivers and bit sets) basically b/c I prefer their handles over the Weras. (not that the Weras are uncomfortable by any means, it's just a personal preference) Also, as far as the torx bits go, I find the Wihas to be slightly more true to size exhibiting 0 wobble when inserted into a screw head. They just fit.
You could buy multiple cheap China-made drivers and bits sets (which you will, as they tend to wear out rather quickly) or you could spend a little more and when your ready to hand down your knives to your kids, you could also hand them the same tools you used to maintain them.
I'll have to give it to the Germans, they know how tools should be made.

I use the CRKT Torx Get-A-Way Driver. Works great for most torx screws, though it's not a complete kit.

Hi i am guessing you may be looking for a tool to adjust your Ambitious ? If so you need a 1/16" Allen key, if however you need a Torx driver set, i have found the Benchmade set in a compact blue container very good, you will see many different sets advertised on the web and i will pass on some good advise that was given to me Dont buy cheap tools, or you will be buying them for ever.
Besr wishes OMR.

If you stick with current models, Torx 4-15 and a nickel (or other coin of similar thickness) will cover you nicely. If you buy older Spydercos, then you'll definitely need a small Phillips screwdriver or two, and may need one or more Allen wrenches.

I've had good luck with all three of these sets. Kobalt is Lowes store brand, Husky is Home Depot's. The Wiha drivers are better quality, but I've never had problems with the others. It lacks the T-4 and T-5 drivers, which the others have, but only a few of the smallest Spydercos use those sizes.

As far as cheap tools buying them forever, I get that. I used to be a car mechanic, and while snap-on, Matco or Mac tools are pricey, they've treated me much better than the cheaper stuff.

I too can highly recommend the Benchmade set. Not all sizes, but the ones you need. Quality is higher than the kobalt set for sure. The T6 in my kobalt had twisted, no such problems in the BM set. Also, be careful on the Chinese Spydies. Some of the earlier ones had a different size and I'm not so sure a metric fits better than English when you have Allen heads.

I use the GorillaGrip by Bondhus. It has 8 Torx wrenches and thus far it works on every knife I own with that type of fitting. Seems to be good quality and easy to handle. For Allen wrenches, I have Craftsman sets in US and Metric sizes.

Thanks for the additional information, good to know.

I'm just thinking it'd be easy to over do it with a 1/4" bit even in a stubby driver.
Maybe just me and my banana hands...
