Hello everyone,

Im am haveing sleepless nights thinking about how to make an automatic knife. I love these things and want to know what tools i need to.. make every part of an auto or an assited knife. ok, any folding knive at all. Ive been looking in home depot and junk yards for materials. I really don't want to make the blade just yet. Just learn how the machanics work and how to do it myself. What kind of machines do i need. or maybe someone can just give me good advice on how and where to start. materials ect. Thank you for your help. Can't wait for the light of day to start makeing. I live in california. any teachers out here?

making an automatic knife is quite a daunting task.

perhaps you could start out just making a plain, fixed blade first. then move on to a folding knife. and then if you are still interested, find a knifemaker willing to let you watch him make one of his.

otherwise, if you just want a cheap throw-together-kit, check out the auto knife kits on eBay. search for "kit" in the knives and swords section.
