Hey guys I want to make my first knife I have a belt sander/grinder, grinding wheel, drill and other common tools what else do I need?

Get a few books and read them cover to cover.Wayne Goddards,"The $50 Knife Shop" is a good starter.

It should work fine.Get good quality belts for metal work from Tru-grit, Pop's, or one of the knife suppliers. Use at least a 3/4 HP motor with a three step pulley.Speed is not what you need most - power is.

How will a 3 step pully help ,this is just a pulley with 3 differnt v groves right.

Correct. By changing the belt to different size steps, you can change the speed at which the belt runs. Sometimes it's nice to be able to slow down for a finer grit belt, etc.
