Just purchased a Toor Merchant 2.0. On one side of the blade U.S.A. 1864 is etched. What does it mean?

A serial number would be my guess as well. Interesting company. Kind of came out of nowhere. I've had a couple of their fixed blades. Decent quality but a bit thick behind the edge on both. Also seem a bit pricey for what you really get. Just my opinions, of course.

I can appreciate the company as it's all American made, American materials, American workshop, American workers who just so happen to mostly be those who served and paid with an American wage, and the price of their wares reflects this, which isn't a bad thing, they did seem to have come out of nowhere

Maybe try email, write, or call Toor Knives, takes the speculation out of it when the answer comes directly from them.

Then post confirmation follow up results here for all future people to read about, as it’s sure to be asked again at some point again.

I would have to agree that they are a bit pricey for what you get especially since most of their knives are made with CPM 154.

Thanks. I thought this might be a quicker and easier way to find out as I’ve heard their customer service is subpar.
