Toothpicks or Peanuts?

The peanut is popular but I have med-lg hands and use my knife for food prep quite a bit. So if I was going to replace my big Okapi with one of those two it would be the toothpick.

Peanuts have two blades as the other has one. I like both, so I would say get both and have the choice if the two to carry.

Best of luck,
John

5" toothpick in bone, brass and nickle silver. Peanuts are too small to cut through salami or a thick sandwich and there is just something attractive about 4" of slim razor sharp blade. Although its long, its a thin compact package that disappears in a pocket. Try the revived case in bone for about $50.

Could try Barerhead Trapper as well for long blade.
Personally, on looks I much prefer Peanut to Toothpick, as for salami slicing it depends on the size of the sausage.....

Pick 'em.

I am a peanut fanatic, but I'd say buy one of each and find what you like. A peanut and a tiny toothpick will be relatively inexpensive.

And...if this is your first slippie...your not only going to buy just one anyway.

The Peanut is probably my favorite knife pattern, but the tiny Toothpick is cool too. I agree with marcinek. Get them both and find out for yourself. Think of it as an excuse to buy TWO knives.

Given the choice between the two I'd pick a peanut.

I think the big blade/small blade combo of the peanut pattern would be very functional, so I'd like to get one myself. Does Boker make a peanut, or something like one?

Seeing how this is going why not carry both.

I carry for EDC now is a 4 1/4" case stockman and a Benchmade tac.

So I think with the size of a small toothpick and a peanut you could carry them both a never even notice them in your pocket.

It really doesn't matter what you carry.

It's what you like to carry thats important in the end.

I have one of each, the Tiny Toothpick gets some pocket time. I heard so much here about the peanut that I had to try one. It lasted about a day before it went into my "too small for me to hang onto" pile. I prefer the penknife for a small two-blade. It is just enough longer that I don't fumble it like I did the peanut

I got my wifey hooked on tiny toothpicks. You can get them in 2-blade patterns

I always suspected the toothpick's pointy bottom would make for awkward pocket carry. They are good looking though. I should try one.

I will get a peanut as I am a fan of two blade knives with blades coming out of the same end, e.g. Barlow.

I bought a Tiny Toothpick a few months ago, and it hasn't been in my pocket as much as my Peanut, which I bought more recently. The slim handles are great for the longer toothpicks, but they don't work well for me in such a small knife, I like the feel of the slightly larger Peanut better.

Plus, the Peanut's got two blades.

I'd have to go with a yellow handled cv peanut. just never cared for toothpicks. ahgar
