try posting this in the political forum. I think you would get more responses there. Welcome to the forums.
 
Seems like that took some effort but it sure resembles spam to me. I guess the political forum would do, but still looks like spam. Speaking of spam, I'm kinda hungry. :barf:

Edit: Ahhh yeah, look at his or her profile, spamming lots of forums here.
 
I consider myself a Christian but don't attend church. I try to follow the Golden Rule and that's enough for me. All I can say is, to quote Will Rogers, "If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die, I want to go where they went." I don't think they went to Hell!
 
As a believing Christian and longtime member of this forum, I have the following comments:

most folks here can't hear (or read) what your're saying because your rudeness speaks so loud. Paul said he wanted to "be all things to all people", in order that some may be saved...not to be an annoyance to all people, that all will be offended.

this site welcomes religious and political debate, in the Political and Community forums but this General forum is for knife enthusiasts to discuss knives. period.

how many converts do you expect to win by coming into their "home", not taking off your shoes, and tromping about inappropriately?

I don't know you, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt by saying you're heart is in the right place. You are trying to spread truth and spark debate that may enlighten some. But your approach shows a lack of sensitivty to your audience and the rules of the road. If you would have spent a little time looking around and getting a feel for the place, you would have known that.

Hopefully, this post will only be moved to a more appropriate venue and not deleted along with your ID. Hopefully you haven't so soiled the host's carpets that he might let you stay and become a part of the community. Then maybe with your credibility carefully nurtured over time, you can share your (our) faith more effectively.

I was raised Roman Catholic, and have my own views on religion, even though I also believe in God and Jesus. I view the first post as SPAM! I hate it when people try to cram their version of religion down our throats, and that goes for Christianity, Catholicism, Islam, Judaism and Buddhism, heck, all the religions. My little bro came to me for advice on where he was religiously, and I told him I would help him, but he had to make a choice. I hate it when people can't think for themselves. That's coming from a God loving Bush supporter.
 
Same poster hit a lot of car forums with a one off post a couple of weeks ago.
 
Guys, why is everyone getting so upset and indignant? I don't understand people who say "I'm a christian", and then complain about people "cramming religion" down there throats. Should this post have been placed somewhere else, sure and it was deleted accordingly. It is scary as a christian when I see other christians unloading on someone for spreading the gospel. Was it appropriate, obviously not or it would not have been removed, but ALL christians are called to bear witness. Maybe this person could have done it more tactfully, but then again, there is a chance that just one person saw the original post before it was deleted (as I did), and it opened a door...who knows.
Jesus was often berated for "cramming" his religious views down the throats of the public... In the school where I teach we are trying to keep the Pledge in our classrooms, because some believe that "under God" is "cramming our religion down the throats of our students"...
I hope I have not broken any rules, would like to see this moved to political so it can be discussed
 
no, I could understand nonchristians being offended at this post, and that is why I agree that it should be moved. It;s the christians being offended that i don't understand... ;)
 
I am offended because I'm a Christian and wouldn't want Buddhists, Muslims, used car salesmen etc to post similar stuff all over BFC.
 
Storm, would you be offended if you were at a gun forum and someone posted an informative post on knives, or four wheel drives, etc. I guess I don't understand how reading about the Lord and his offer of salvation can be offending to a christian, no matter where it is posted. I guess we will agree to disagree ;)
 
It was not informative. It was a poorly written mass of drivel that he/she/it (might be a program) cut and pasted all over the place. Trust me, it's not the subject matter that makes a difference here.

If someone wants to learn about religion, they go to rabbi (or one of those newfangled "priests" ;) ). Why possible motive suggests posting on a knife discussion forum?

When I lived and worked in New York City, I passed by many fervent Christians handing out panphlets on the street. Typically, they would step forward as I came towards them and ask if I were a Christian, and offer their literature. When I shook my head "no" and kept going, they stepped back and waited for the next person to arrive.

If one of them had stepped in front of me and blocked my way, pushed the pamphlet into my hand, and insisted on holding my arm and lecturing me, I would not have been happy.

If one of them had followed me home and kicked on my door to get me to come back out and listen, I'd have called the police.

kittykate1984 is not an evangelist. kittykate1984 is an obnoxious intruder. kittykate1984 is so obnoxious I wonder if this spammer isn't doing this to make Christians look stupid.
 
That "LOOK AT THIS NOW CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE BIBLE JESUS LOVES YOU" in-your-face way annoys me to no end. And if I wanted to read about God's offer of salvation I wouldn't come to BFC to read about it.

But yes, we can agree to disagree.
 
Esav, I agree about the coming to your house part, but let me ask you this. If someone posts on here a patriotic story of an american soldier in Iraq and how brave they were and how they were all heros and how we should all support them and pray for them (All of which I FIRMLY believe), would it still be intruding or offending?
Certainly there are people from other countries, unfortunately probably some people from the u.s, who read these forums who disagree with the war and see american leaders and soldiers as evil. You may move the post, but would you call the poster obnoxious and an intruder, even if they posted on multiple forums here?
Again, not trying to win an argument here, just trying to gain some insight :)
