This is just for fun, what are your five favorite knife handle materials?

It doesn't have to be anything I use, I just thought this would be cool to do!

Choose more than 5 if you want... you can even have two lists, users and art knives or whatever. :D

Wood
Ivory
Stag
Leather
Micarta
G10
Duct tape
Cord wrap

Like Bob Loveless said, (not a direct quote) a good knife handle should feel so right and good that its like holding your own "junk".

I value design and execution far more than material. Anything more than a handfull is a waste! ;) :p

Hmmm going to have to go with titty as well... and then micarta, Ti, more micarta, some Ti, and then G10.. Oh carbon fiber for shizzle.

Need drugs. Back later.

Field knives: Canvas or burlap micarta, also carbon fiber
Folders: carbon fiber and Titanium
Damascus: mammoth bark

1. Stag
2. Anything but stag.
Actually I don't mind most handle materials but stag is the ultimate for me. I really don't use my knives as hard as some people and I just love the way looks and feel of stag improves as it is carried and used.

In order:

1. Titanium
2. Micarta or G10 (doesnt matter)
3. Japanese cord wrap
4. Stabilized Walnut, Maple, Zebrawood, Ebony
5. Void-free carbon fiber

Thanks everyone, I appreciate you guys taking the time to post!

in no particular order...

Titanium
Micarta - Double Black Canvas, Black Linen, Black Paper, Maroon Linen, Green Canvas, Natural Canvas, Ivory Paper...
G10 - all of it!
Carbon Fiber
Silver Twill - any of the twills will do :D
Handmade Composites - especially anything that glows
Wood - Blackwood, Ironwood, Cocobolo, anything nice
Cord Wraps - Tsuka Maki, Paracord, Soaked or Removable
Integral/Skeletonized with no handle material but rounded lines

In order:

Titanium
Stonewashed Titanium
Anodized Titanium
Beadblasted Titanium
Anything in Titanium.

Sorry, but I gotta go with the boobs too! Slap one on each side and it's all good!

Seriously though. It all depends on the intended function and look you're going for. If you're doing a Scagel bowie you're gonna go with antler; tactical then composites. If you're doing bolsters then you can play around a bit. Say high end, mokumi and the fiber of carbone is really slick. I like what Michael Morris does with Dymondwood and micarta. It really all depends on the type of knife for me, but I will say I'm a sucker for carbon fiber. Stick that on a $5 Chinese pos and I'll buy it!
