When I first saw Guyon's topic , I thought he meant your top 5 multi-tools. It was the top 5 tools, not multi-tools. In his topic, it's interesting to see all the differences in tool preference among the Bladeforums members (I always wondered if anybody used the corkscrew! ;) ). So I thought I'd ask What are your top 5 multi-tools? and see if there's as much variation. Make it a top ten (instead of a top five) if you like. Or make a top 5 for each of several different scenarios (e.g. work, weekend, hunting, etc). Include Swiss army knives if you like (Victorinox lists them as "multi-tools" on their website and I'm definitely not going to disagree with them!)

Here's a list of 10 of my favorites in no particular order:

1) Victorinox SwissTool X
2) Leatherman Charge XTi
3) SOG PowerLock 2.0
4) Leatherman PST and PST II
5) Leatherman Wave (original)
6) Kershaw A100C
7) Victorinox Rambler or Classic SD
8) Spyderco SpydeRench
9) Victorinox Soldier
10) SOG Pocket Power Plier

I have A LOT of favorites so it was difficult to just pick 10. And my list will probably change by tomorrow! :p

Well, seeing as I don't really have any multi-tools yet, I'll just list the ones I have encountered:

Leatherman Wave (Original)
Leatherman PST (Only one I actually own so far, got it from my Grandpa :D)
Buck X-tract

I may post back later when I've ben to the store to try out multi-tools and have bought one.

1. Vic Climber
2. Leatherman Charge XTi
3. Leatherman Wave (Original)
4. Vic Camper
5. Vic Outdoorsman

These are what I have been rotating lately:

• LT Core for heavier duty
• LT Juice CS4 as an all around EDC
• LT Micra for scissors while carrying full size tool without one
• Vic Swisschamp always when travelling
• Vic Rambler (do I need a reason?) :)

Others I use sometimes:

• LT Super Tool in car console
• LT PST for easier pocket carry, largely replaced by CS4
• Vic Tinker for easier still, usually paired with Micra or Rambler
• Imperial Kamp King for scut work

Then there are others I play with, seldom use, but want to keep, anyway :D

Since you include SAKs........
1.Victorinox OH Trekker
2.Victorinox Compact
3.Victorinox Huntsman
4.Victorinox Farmer
5.Victorinox Swisschamp
6.Victorinox Rucksack
7.Victorinox Outrider
8.Victorinox Alox Lumberjack
9.Leatherman (old) Wave
10.Leatherman Micra

My edc right now is #1 and #2 or if its a one knife only day then #3 or #5.

I would also give honorable mention to my old SOG Paratool. I'm going to add scissors to it so after that it may make it back into my top ten.
I have a Leatherman xe6 on the way which i hope will eventually earn its way into the top ten.
A Swisstool X will be on my shopping list some time next year hopefully. I've been wanting one of those for a while.

If one of the manufacturers could shoehorn a Sak combotool style canopener/bottleopener into a Micra or Clutch sized pocket tool that would guarantee a place in my top ten.
