Lots of bass fisherman here. What are your top six lures?

1 Strike King Bitsy Bug
2 Mister Twister Sassy Shad
3 Senko
4 Lunker Lure Buzzbait
5 Bomber Long A Minnow
6 Strike King Speed Shad

1. Arbogast Jitterbug
2. Berkely Power Lizard (for spawning times)
3. Yamamoto Senko
4. Strike King spinnerbait with 4 blades
5. Stick or Jerk bait
6. Moss Mouse for lilypads

1. KaRu Vibrashock
2. Football jig w/chunk trailer
3. Senko
4. Super Fluke
5. Spinner Bait (white/chart or black/chart)
6. Rebel PopR

1. Mepps Aglia (4 & 5 sizes, all sorts of colors, etc)
2. Jitterbug (the big-boy jointed in black seems best)
3. shad-pattern stick bait (3-4"; I like Storms and Bass Pro XPS)
4. Storm Wiggle Wart (perch pattern, or crawdad pattern)
5. Rapala X-rap Shad (suspending with skirt. Perch pattern)
6. did I mention Aglia Spinners???

soft-plastics are something that elude me as far as fishing success, though the other 58billion bass fishermen everywhere would agree that they are a staple in thier arsenal. I just fail at their use.

Note: Most of my bass-chasin' occurs in the Susquehanna River, where the quarry of choice is the smallmouth variety. I fish alot of skinny-water streams too with ultralight and fly tackle, so those lure choices would vary from the above. The only constant would be the love of Aglias, but in smaller sizes.

I don't know if I can come up with six as I don't do a lot of bass fishing but here are a few I have had some luck with.
1) Bill Lewis Rattle Traps 1/8 oz. or 1/4 oz. sizes
2) Big Jitterbug black or dark in color (works best at night)
3) Berkley Power Worms (most luck with the red and black color Texas rigged)
4) Various Mepps spinners
5)Various spinner baits

Berkley Gulp Sinkin minnow in green w/ red flakes on a red gamakatsu
Mepps dressed spinner in gold blade #3 i think
red and chartruse crappie jigs ( tube 1/16th oz jig head)
Crank bait in crawdad color (caught my first 5lb+ on this..i was 8)
Gene Larew Salty Craw BIG Black w/ Blue claws (caught my first 9lb+ on this was 30)
Gene Larew Salty Craw regular sized...black w/ chartruese claws....just good all around where i am...have boxes of other stuff but w/ those 6 i can eat well and catch everything in my ponds.

Damn...im gonna add a Rebel Pop R in baby bass color for the summer night time fishing! pop...plunk...plunk..... SLAM! FISH ON!

a Northland tackle jig head with a yellow twisty tail and a small spinner... I've caught more damn bass on a rig like that than anything. Cheapest, too ;)

Six?
I usually fish with three rods in the canoe and two from shore.
Spinnerbait on one.
Sluggo on another
Jig (with trailer) on the third.
For the other three:
Rubber worm
Buzzbait
Oh! and how can I forget Kermit :D
The Scumfrog.

If I really had to catch a bass, I mean really had to...
It'd be hard to beat a 4" purple (or black) rubber worm.

These are in no particular order:

Senko
Spinnerbait
Crankbait (Shad Rap typically)
Nightcrawler (If the bluegill aren't too voracious)
Jig & Minnow
Berkley Power Worm (fished on top of weed mats)

If you consider the Power Worm and Senko under one category as "plastic worms" then I'd add a Mepps/inline spinnerbait to the list as well.

Gotta have a white Big O, a Rapala fat rap, a jitterbug, some spinnerbaits, a couple of tube jigs and maybe a small Zaraspook.

Zoom Baby Brush Hog
Jig and pig
Lucky Craft Flash minnor MR
Lucky Craft Sammy
Spinner bait

Watermellon and Motor Oil 7.5 Zoom Plastic Work
Spinner Bait White and Chartreuse Skirt
Zara Spook
Crank Bait in the 3-6' diving range
Bream on a bobber

Cheekser and dttomcat, you both listed big jitterbugs. Are you talkin about Muskie jitterbugs?

The one I'm taking about is made by Arbogast. I guy told me one time that if I wanted to catch a big bass to go buy the biggest darkest jitterbug lure I could find and wait until about 1:00 or 1:30 in the AM. Then cast as far out as I could toward the middle of the lake. After about 45 minutes of this I caught the biggest LM bass I have ever landed. Probably only about 5 lbs. or so but that's a huge fish for this little lake (it's more like a good sized pond really). I'll never forget catching that fish. In hindsight, I was probably violating some game laws by fishing at that time of the night. I was young and dumb.

It's funny. I just read some Jitterbug reviews on Basspro's website and each of the first five guy's talk about catching huge bass at night while fishing this lure. Give it a try some time, folks.

I fished at night a few times, with jitterbugs , buzzbaits, plastic worms and crankbaits being successful. I fished the muskie jitterbug at night once and got some huge explosions but no fish. Caught a nice one last night on a buzzbait.

That is my experience with them as well:o

Yes, the Jitterbug is made by Arbogast. THe ones I use are the 3" 5/8oz. jointed model. It can be a frustrating lure to use (I only use it at night) as many fish will attempt to hit it, but will fail. I can say that moonlight helps the fish find the bait. If there is a new moon it will be tough to get solid hook-ups.

Not only is it a good LMB lure, but the pikers seem to hit it pretty hard as well in my experience.

Jitterbugs and buzzbaits at night.
Heart attack fishin'

Especially when they follow it right up to the end of the rod and then hit it.
