After Peter's Bowies, not forgetting the Hunter as what a piece of art that is,pictures the last few days,I think it's been the last few days, have lost track of time and just about everything else looking at these fine knives. My question is do ya'll like the long clips or the short ones?Just wonderin' aloud. :)

I like both. It totally depends on the overall design of the knife. On the slim fighter style bowies, I like the long clip. On the big, wide bladed bowies and on hunters, I prefer the shorter clip.

By the way, incase you don't know what leatherbird is referring to when he posts about seeing Peter's knives, check out the posts in the Custom Knife Forum by ptgdvc. If you like bowies (and a fabulous hunter by Larry Fuegen), you will love what you see.

I prefer the longer clips. But, what's more important to me is that the clip is evenly ground.

Even grinds on the clips are a must for me too,Danbo. And on the slim fighter style I like the long clips also,Keith.Got a long lean one from Don Hanson, his first forged Bowie and it has a real short clip, unsharpened, but I really like it,too. :D

Long clips on fighters.

Short clips on utility knives.

Here in Australia a sharpened clip can get you in trouble, so unsharpened on either.
