This is my third in the ongoing series. With the addition of the carved steel spacers and the black lip pearl to the handles, this one proved to be a lot more work than the previous all ivory versions.
Blade-Eggerling Damascus with carved Fleur De Lis on both sides.
Handles- Carved Ivory (Elephant), Carved 416 Stainless, Premium Black Lip Pearl
Liners- Titanium, Fileworked and Anodized
Latch- 416 Stainless
Gems- Amethyst set in stops pins
Closed- 2 1/2"
Opened- 4"
FYI- My original plan was to have Coop shoot it, but I wound up working on it into the wee hours the night before leaving for the Blade Show and I didn't even have a chance to grab a quick couple of pics of my own. Like the previous two versions it sold within the first few minutes of the show and I didn't know at the time that the owner was going to ask me to ship it to him after the show...So in order to get a photographic record I wound up giving it to Point Seven to shoot.
When I got home I grabbed a few pics of my own before shipping the knife out on Thursday.
Here's the Point Seven shot. Under normal lighting the black lip had a lot of color but under his lights the pearl came alive like a neon sign!!! I dig the sting ray background. I've had a large sheet sitting around for a couple of years collecting dust. Now I know what to do with it.
My pics:
This was a new filework pattern for me. I was pleased with the way it turned out and definitely plan on using it again.
Love to hear your comments...
