i should have it by the end of the week. I'll take it out for a spin and post a review in the review section
I think it's a nice piece of work but I wish they'd be up front about the fact that it's a reworked Ontario 18". The blade length is "shorter" because they extended the handle up to cover the un-edged ricasso area. The tip has been ground from the spine to remove the factory rounding, it's been powder coated, sharpened, had the tang trimmed up a little, and the scales significantly upgraded, not to mention the sheath is of very good quality. I consider it a good value given the work involved, though naturally it's on the upper end of the machete price scale.![]()
same here, but IMHO, the rework they did makes it essentially a new machete.
you'd pay at least 25 for the sheath, and 40-50 to have someone rehandle it like that
then they re-coat the blade with a vastly superior coating, and change the blade profile and edge geometry.
IMHO, you couldn't have a custom maker do what they do to an Ontario machete for that price.

Exactly. It's expensive for a machete, but the price is very fair for the amount of labor and materials used in its upgrade process.
