Hi gang, looking for some advise. I am interested in a TOPS Armageddon. I have always liked the Trace Rinaldi look and if I didnt spend all my cash on the Busse and kin in the last six months I would have ordered one from the man direct.

I checked the search and saw that he posted a notice when they were first coming out with the tops version and the interest was there. William?

Did any one get one and how do you like it? would you recommend it or just keep saving for the real one.

Thanks for looking and any advice.
Ever since I first saw it on Ron Hoods tape I liked the design.

Thanks.

Just get a machete and spend the extra money on something else like courses to improve skills or new gear.

I had one, its a big solid knife alright. Was a good chopper, but on the heavy side, well made and not too gimicky. Worth a try if you are after a big heavy blade.

I have been trying to get a hold of Trace for a while now with negative results.

you could do as much with less money invested.

Doesn't Trace Rinaldi make an Armagedon as well? (EDIT: I missed that he was mentioned already.)

With a name like the "Armageddon" what do you expect?

Yeah that's dumb and stuff naming a knife something cool to describe it...like a Battle Mistress or a Trailmaster or a Black Bear or a Junglas or a....:jerkit:

Rowen makes a great knife, if you like the design their execution won't disappoint just look at ESEE products same manufacturer.

Ahh , so Tops knives are produced by Rowen?? I noticed they are located in the same city.
I have a Junglas & a Armageddon. Very similiar build quality.

I'm pretty sure no. At one time Rowen produced TOPs knives (or a few models), but I don't think they do anymore. I could be wrong, but I think I recall the statements being made from Rowen himself during one of the ESEE chats.

Traditionalists may not like the style, cheapskates don't like the price, but if the knife calls to you, buy it. I've never heard anything bad about the quality of Tops knives.

I tend to like big blades, although I have never really been drawn to this one, I'd think it would work fine. If you like it, that is all that really matters.

I don't have one but I think it looks neat :) you should probably get it, If you haven't already

I had Trace make me a scaled down Armageddon. It has an 8 1/4 inch blade of s30v heat treated by Paul Boss. I bought this knife in 2002. It has handled every chore I could ever throw at it.Trace was great to work with!
