Really looking for a hard duty small/medium edc fixed blade. I have all the usual suspects, saw this and have never tried a Tops. If anyone has held in hand, is it big enough or too small for kinda large hands? steel is 1095 carbon steel coated.

I like my TOPS knives, but recently acquired a Cold Steel Pendleton Hunter in 3V. I'm impressed with it. A tough smaller knife and it's a bargain of a deal. There are a couple good YouTube reviews.

As someone with big hands (2xl glove), I've gotten pretty good at judging handles. That looks small. At that blade size, I'm not a fan of finger choils. I wished the G10 extended farther to toward the blade.

Like Mad said, I'd rather go CS Pendleton Mini Hunter in CPM-3V -same price but slightly smaller blade. They also have one in VG1 for under $50.

Not a fan of the name and otter pic on the blade either. I wish TOPS wouldn't print all that crap on their blades. YMMV.

Small and hard use don't go together- you can't get enough grip on the knife to hold onto it. I've looked at the Blue Otter before when trying to find a knife that I thought I could carry in front jeans pockets. I concluded that it met the size limit, but would then be too small for effective use. A lot of people manage to use the tiny little knives but since you said you have large hands I'm thinking it might be too much of a compromise. Size and design I think it is similar to the Bradford Guardian 3 which is marginal size for me for much use. I do own other TOPS knives and I think the materials and construction would be good enough for hard use if the size is up to it.
