I'd go with the B.O.B. It's too well know and too proven. I see no advantage to the Benchmade unless you just like it better.

In a woodsy buscrafty knife I want a tough carbon steel. 1095, A2, 3V, something like that. Not S30v. Benchmade has really screwed up by not offering the Buscrafter and Fixed Contego in more appropriate steels. And the price is not equal to what you get. I'll take the BOB or better yet an Esee or a BRKT.

The BOB is an all around great knife. I have never touched the benchmade, so no real comparison from me.

I own the bushcrafter 162, it is a tough knife and the s30v has held up well. If I had to buy it again I would. I've batoned chopped and pryed with it..

I don't own the tops but have more than a few 1095 blades.. I like both and use both. I really enjoy the ergonomics and stainless on the 162..
