Hello. I was just wondering if anybody has information on the knife, (the FDX-3). Anything at all you could tell would be of value to me. Thank very much. -Joe

I've got and FDX-4 that I picked up from CDNN about 2 years ago. They have long since been out of stock. I bought it on impulse. I added it in with some other item because $60 seemed like a pretty good price to me. This is one of those knives that I bought but really didn't need (I have more use for a folder) but have ended up keeping. My impressions as it would relate to the x-3 is that it is a thick sturdy knife. The handle feels nice and is well made. The handle is a bit on the large size but feels good in hand. I went to work on a 2x4 with it, hacking, battening, drilling holes with the tip, stabbing, and whittling. It preformed to my liking in all acts and kept a surprisingly good edge and point doing it. The grind is too obtuse to be a good slicer though, but that was somewhat alleviated after I took the paper wheel to it, but it's still no Buck 110. The x-3 does look like it would be a better hacker. Overall it seemed like a very good knife for the $60 I paid for it and wouldn't hesitate to take out in the woods on a camping trip, and now that my boys are a bit older I hope to be able to do.
