This knife deserves more attention. Buck has hit a home run with this knife & this line. I only own 1 Buck & it is the one in the thread title. AWESOME !!! Buck needs to expand on this line of HD, full width, full tang/extended tang, outdoor hard use knives. It was VERY sharp from the factory. Now is scary sharp. My favorite small/med fixed blade.

I have even batoned with it. This pic shows the 2nd baton stick that i broke. I do NOT baby my knives. Still shaved hair like nobody's business after my batoning session.:thumbup: to Buck.

Thanks for the pictures! I like mine, although, I was planning on using it more towards hunting season. It looks like yours is broken in already!! :D You might want to look into the Buck Hoodlum too ;)

I have the folding version of the CSAR-T and I love it as well. Its not exactly a knife that I can EDC due to the fact that its too large and heavy (I work in an office) but its a great knife for hunting, camping, fishing, or hiking trips. Really tough knife...worth the money for a knife this beefy thats made in the USA!

Yeah, i did. It just did'nt feel as good in my hand. Just don't like the notch so close to the tip. Seems like a bad place to put it for people like me who baton hard & chop hard, but maybe not, IDK. Great for a hot pot lid lifter though. Too bad about Ron Hood. I hear he was a great man. What a loss. The choil MAKES this knife, IMHO. But i LOVES me some good choils. Most are too small, but not this one.

Don't worry about the notch. You won't break the knife there. Ron has made that knife for years and not had anyone break it there that i have heard of. But I was not impressed with the fixed blade CSAR-T. I did not like that they changed the profile of the tanto compared to the folder. Also did not like the steel choice, wanted ATS-34 like the folder and was not thrilled with the handle. I did like the prybar on the end and liked the sheath but not super thrilled with it.

I agree with you. I have had the folder since it came out and it has been outstanding. In fact I like it so much I ordered the fixed blade version you show here just a few minutes ago. Any knife made this well and backed by the Buck warranty is a knife I can feel good about carrying and using.

The CSAR-T folders are awesome knives also. I don't know if the Bravo is a legit CSAR-T. It doesn't have it stamped on the blade but its in the list. My Bravo is my EDC. Its the same length and weight as the tanto folder. I find it to be the right size for a EDC. I think it really depends on your EDC needs. I would have already gotten the tanto folder if it came in something other than. Ats-34 and 420HC.

As soon as money allows, i will get the G10 handled folder. I LOVED it, when handleing it at a very large TN knife superstore.
