Hello I am new to the buck sub-forum and I would really appreciate a review of the TOPS/Buck CSAR-T. Thank you for your time :D

This is one strong as heck knife. I have a SOG "Ageis" tanto that I swapped out for this. Heavy and just very rugged..I would love to see one that was 1/2 serrated

Not much good for tomato slicing, other than that I think its got you covered.

One heck of a brute.

Thanks for you time guys! :D I think I might pick one up as a dad day gift for my pop

Go for it. Mine came in yesterday and it is a hellofatool. In fact I was thinking of getting one for my son as a birthday gift.

I just received one in the mail today myself...this sure is one big stout made knife. I have a large hand and boy do I really like it. I think this will be a user but I'm also compelled to get a second one and put it away...I dunno...I think these things are going to become (if not already) harder and harder to find....Just MHO....

Maybe the Buck CSAR-Ts will become hard to find, but once Runtai gets into full production there will probably be plenty around.

:D

Why would you say that?

I dunno, maybe I'm wrong but it seemed like a few places I went to in getting mine were sold out and not sure when they would get more....a few used the word "Discontinued" on their website too....not sure if that's true though. I suppose the boys from Buck could tell us. All in all, I'm very happy with mine and would hope there would be enough for all who'd like one to be able to find them.

Wow...I sure hope not, there's enough of that copy-cat stuff going on...seems like I saw a couple of Buck Strider's that probably qualified to be out of their workmanship on the BIG auction site awhile back....folks were buying them too....

This Runtai outfit seems to be the grand masters of the copycat business......pretty amazing.

Seems to me that if they had the capability to duplicate the blades as they do, they could come up with their own line of blades and walk on the honorable side of the knife business instead of plagiarizing other brands.....I guess it all boils down to buyers being aware and what to spot in a fake. I have found soooo much good information on this site as to what to look for in a fake. I've learned there's a great bunch of knowledgeable folks on here willing to help and all it takes is just asking.....and some good picture taking (which I'm still learning how to do better).

Sad to say, I think Runtai is on the road to producing fakes that can't be spotted.

That picture of the 110 that 110Dave posted has all the proper markings, near as I can see......and nicer wood than the one done by Buck.

I'd like to get one in hand to really look it over.

I'll lay money that the wood isn't stabilized.

I saw some nice stuff on there to how do you order them I didn't see a BUY button

Not trying to rain on your parade, John, but I wouldn't buy a clone if it was the last knife in the world. I detest clones! Hell, if someone cloned me, I would detest me too.

I know there clones but if it's a clone of a 800 dollar knife I am willing to look the other way sorry if I sound like a A-hole

Looks like the Runtai site is for dealers who would contact them for purchases of knives in quantity.

PlumberD, if I remember right, sent them an e-mail to inquire as to details and said he would share the story when he heard back.

Should be interesting.
