Was not able to link the site or add pics but has anyone had any experience with IDT Crash Ax or also called the TOPS Crash Ax? Could only find one 'you tube' video and very limited information on it. Its certainly a different design.

Everybody should have a capable entry tool or two just in case you come upon a crash scene and bare hands won't do it.

I had a recurring dream where I am the first to arrive at a school bus crash with down power lines electrifying the bus which is burning and the kids can't get out. I stopped having this dream after I bot a terrific entry/crow bar and carried in my car plus decided that if I pulled up next to the non-burning part of the bus, got on top of my car (so my tires would insulate me from being shocked) I could pop open a window from the outside and yank the kids out.

This started after I had actually come upon such a crash, no fire but there were down lines as the bus had hit a power pole and it fell onto the bus, after the passengers, if there were any, had left and various workers were on scene.

My inexpensive car-carry entry tool with ZT 561 for scale:

Ahhhh, the Fubar Extreme! Awesome tool. Look on you tube for some cood mods you can do to that bad boy. I did and it made badass more badass.

BTW, for the money, go with the Condor tactical hawk. 1 solid chunk of metal, and a great butt and handle. Monster with a longer handle for leverage too.

Found the pricing online. Seems pricey for a small odd shaped tactical hawk. Boker Plus Vox and CRKT, and Condor all look as good or better for less. Like most Tops, it has strange blade shape. I don't see why.

It also uses a two piece metal design with the handle being hollow. Head and handle are apparently two different types of steel. Seems the hollowed handle's integrity would be compromised using a two piece metal design

From the video, linked in post #2 of this thread, the Tops Crash Axe looks kind of small/short-handled so how do you get leverage and how do you keep your hands from receiving blunt force trauma when swinging this axe in anger since your hands are so close to the business end? Small, okay, but maybe that makes it the one that you have with you since it isn't too big. That being said I wouldn't be unhappy to receive on as a gift. I could throw baby like nobody's business with that heavy head.

Or, go big:

I'd stay away from that particular TOPS axe. If, for some reason, you want a two piece design there are better examples out there. Here's one...http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1040126-escape-rescue-hawk
William's placing the bolts in a stronger direction, the correct direction. Impacts aren't going to be putting stress on those bolts.
Another, which seems better, would be the Nemisis Knives LMAX. I don't own these, so I don't know for sure.

I'm more inclined to stay with one piece, integral, hawks. A great option in that price range are the new RMJ designed CRKT hawks. They can be had for $117 each, and they come with a kydex sheath.

Well I have experience with both one piece and two, and other than the VTAC, I would normally prefer a one peace design. I came across this particular tomahawk and have not seen it before and was wondering if anyone has used one before. The CRKT new line up does look pretty decent though. Sure wish that Kangee had a straight handle!

It looks like a good breaching tool... but overpriced. That's the thing with all TOPS knives. They make a practically bombproof, outstanding, no nonsense product. However the person who is in charge of their pricing must be smoking crack. It seems that they don't realize that 1095 is one of the cheapest (in actual cost, not performance) steels on the market. They are simply charging too much for 1095 steel.

I agree with the dude who mentioned the Condor TRT hawk. It's only around 65 dollars and will probably outperform the TOPS in breaching activities.
