I found a good deal on this and am looking for feedback. I am not former military and don't kid myself that I need a tomahawk for SD. My use would be for emergency and around camp. This tomahawk looks pretty substantial, and it is stated as being "a serious camp tool that doubles as a survival tool."

I have a few TOPS products and I like them well enough. The only axe of theirs I have is the Wolf Pax, and it is a great little belt axe. That said, at around $245 the Hammer Hawk is really pricey. A CRKT Chogan is $100 less, and an Estwing Rigger's Axe is nearly $200 less. Both have metal handles, hammer polls, and are of a similar size. So if simple functionality is the goal, you are better off with a cheaper option. But if you really like the Hammer Hawk and the money isn't an issue, then go for it. I would bet on it being a solid tool that will perform exactly as advertised, and even though 1075 isn't a super steel, TOPS does a good heat treat that really makes it perform.

Thanks for the feedback. Bad news is that the HH on the TOPS site lists for $350, and $221 on Amazon, but I've found one for about $200.
