tops knives

i have a tops walk about its a great knife it came with a leather sheath thaT looked very well made and was very comfortable for edc.. i wore this about 12 times its less then a year old last week i had it on and went to move my shirt to get my wallet and i got poked in the hand. the blade was sticking 3/4" of an inch out the bottom of the sheath the blade cut thru the stitching. i emailed tops and all i got out of them was that they sell a kydex sheath for $35. no offer to repair or replace leather sheath or even send me a kydex for nothing i feel thats the least they could have done what do you guys think?i also own a sparrow hawk xl i like there blades but with this kind of support i think they may be my last

Were you exercising normal caution when replacing the knife into the sheath? Was the sheath a poor fit that contributed to the knife cutting the stitching? Just looking for some more facts.

yes to putting knife back in sheath. the sheath fit was good its almost formed to the knife like kydex would be. its 2 peices of flat leather with the knife formed into 1 side
