im not a metallurgist or anything, ok ,I can sharpen 1095 steel. ive sharpened my junglas, my bk2 my condor my kabar's. and have tried sharpening this msk neck knife from tops, this little knife is my nemesis, so im thinking something is wrong with the steel, yes the steel not me lol, if I find out it is me ill be depressed lol. cause I get most knives sharp as heck, but ive tried sharpening this knife several times over the past 2 yrs, since ive had it, ok I have the paper sharpening wheels and the grit and the compound, I have a work sharp, I have some decent stones of varying grit, nothing I try sharpens this little tops, so. probably bad heat treat ? or could one say for sure, I mean I look at the blade with a magnifying glass, I just dont know. all I know is ive seen others online sharp and shaving. mine certainly doesn't.

are you are getting a burr you can feel with your fingernail before you flip the knife over to do the other side ?
