I have been looking at an Overlander for a while now. The only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger is a coment a forum member left on a review thread of the Overlander. He basically said the grind is too low for the width of the blade. He said it couldn't carve well because of it and so on. What do you all think? Does the geometry keep the Tops Overlander from preforming well?

That's a pretty common issue with TOPS knives. Just reprofile the blade to how you want it to be.

Personally, if you want a knife that will "carve", don't choose one made from 3/16" thick steel.

Thinning the profile is easy enough. That looks like a good stout knife. If you can't re-profile it yourself, send it to an expert like richardj on this forum. For a small fee, he will have it carving good when he is done. Just be clear of what you want him to do.
