Hello all! I've been thinking about getting a TOPS knife, but I have not had the oportunity to even see one "in the flesh" let alone handle one. So I'm asking all the TOPS owners to give me their opinion about their knives, any models will do. Two questions I have that pertain to all the TOPS knives are:

1. How do you find the sabre grind for slicing?
2. The traction notches in the tang/handle, are they uncomfortable when doing hard work with the knife?

Thanks in advance.

I got a TOPS street scalpel as part of a package deal and it is my FAVORITE little knife. To me its a better neck knife value than everything else out there.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I have a steel eagle 111 and it is a good knife, I have no complaints. I have owned 3 other tops and all have been very high quality for the price. I will probably sell the 11 also just because I really have no nee for a knife that big.

I have the wolf cub and the Steel Eagle 7" blade. I have only used the cub, and it works fine. I normally don't go out of my way to compare knives, though.

I would like someone to do a review of the TOPS folder.

EdRozen-On the cutting edge of finding out what the cutting edge is....

Hello,

I just recently received a Wolf Pup and find it to provide a lot of cutting power in a small package. It is 5/32" stock so it cuts just fine and the edge was shaving sharp upon delivery. Just remember the basic TOPS premise: If you want a knife that is pretty to look at but may fail you in the field, don't buy a TOPS!

These are hard working knives that will take a lot of abuse. 1095 is realy a great steel for field use since it is so easy to resharpen. The Kydex sheath is also nicely done.

Later,

MBS
