Whats your opinion of TOPS knives? I want to get one but would like some opinions of those who might know something about them or own one. Thanks.
Wade

I have a Shadow Tracker. It is not like most of the TOPS knives in that it is made from ATS34 stainless. However, it is a well made product and performs well. My only complaint is that the fit in the Kydex sheath is too tight for me. One day I'll heat it up a little and fix that. I've never abused it so I can't tell you how it holds up under abuse.

I can also say that returns are almost non exitent with TOPS knives. People buy them and keep them. That's always a positive sign. Their customer service is also known to be good. I think TOPS is a fairly low risk choice.

Hi Wade, I've got 3 Tops and I love them. They're very rugged knives and extremely reliable. I've got a Shymarshall, a Blue Otter and a Coyote Blue. Don't hesitate you won't be disapointed, like I say real knives for real men...:) Cheers!!!

I have a small TOPS fixed blade and it is rugged. I also think it's kydex is a bit tight/snug and could use some loosening up.

I have the Street Scalpel (1095) and the Sea Wolfe (CM154), both of which have been fine. I am not a fan of Tops' sheaths however. If you check out their catalog, you'll see that the more expensive knives get a better heat treatment. Some models are even heat treated by Paul Bos.

I was just about to post the same question with regards to their folders, the CQT 303/304. Anyone have anything to add?

They are an outstanding value for the money. The overall construction is top shelf and they are great folks to deal with.

i've got a street scalpel and love it, it's basically a sharpened crowbar. I like the steel, takes and holds an edge well. later, ahgar

That is really good to hear as I just ordered one! From everything I've read about it, this knife sounds like a pretty sweet blade.
