Tops scalpel

I got my tops scalpel two weeks ago and was very dissapointed to say the least. The blade shape is very good to look at and the materials used are excellent, but the blade is too thick for its length. The second
Issue with it was the blade sharpness - it strugled to slice paper straight out of the box. I checked the
Angle of the edge and found it to be 35 degrees, no good for cutting unless its an axe or chisel. Tops

Yeah they are 1/4" thick with a very narrow grind. You're right they look cool and its good for poking, but not my first choice as a cutter.
Which is why I never bought one!
 
this is pretty par for the course with knives like this... one in 10 are well thought out, but most of them are designed to impress people with their looks more than function.
