Hi,

Does anyone out there know if TOPS knives are numbered?

I have a TOPS Sea Wolfe, with blue Micarta handles and hollow brass pins, and under the TOPS logo it's numbered 071. Is this the model number or is it the production number. If it is the production number, any idea how many have been made?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Orm.

If this is the one that I sent to England last year, and I'm pretty sure it is, that particular Sea Wolfe is a pre-production knife. How many were actually made I don't know. I know that several people here at BF's had owned it before me, so maybe one of them will have more info.

I bought that one in Marlboro, MA from S4 supply. It is a pre-production TOPS, one of 100 made and numbered. There are only 100 with blue Micarta and all are numbered.

There are also a few sterile sea wolfe's with Blue Micarta...........

Superb knife, BTW.......

i have a TOPS nite chaser and thee is a '125' under the TOPS logo on the handle. its just a regular model nothing special but the numbers there. Maybe its a model number?

yes, therye excellent knives the sea wolfe and nite chaser are virtually identical apart from a slight tip difference

I remember that the earlier versions of these knives had a single tactile depression in the scales, a place where you could feel it by the thumb and index finger. Later models did not have this feature.

Cool, thanks for the info. What a small world we live in :)

Anybody else had this particular knife?

Orm.
