Has anyone here used one of these? Any thoughts?

And weren't there a few other knife designs similar to the Shango with different blade shapes? I recall seeing a thread either here or over on the WSS forums a while back with a few variations.

It does look like a handy blade, and I really like the looks of the blade shape and the long handle; Actually the blade shape reminds me of the Douk Douk profile.

I have one, and I love it. Sizable handle, quality stainless, and an overall no-nonsense design. The notch works great, too! I EDC it in a paracord harness. :)

I haven't tried one but I'd love to give that firesteel notch a shot. Looks like it would work pretty well. What's the thought behind the thickened tip?

All I know about it is that the guy who designed it is a huge spaz.

Seriously, what a whack.

:D

Joe has said that the flare at the tip is just for comfort when extending the forefinger or thumb along the spine of the blade. I've found, in practice, that it does improve the ergos nicely. I like putting my forefinger along it when opening boxes. :)

The blade is interesting for sure... I would consider getting one if I didnt already have an Izula and a HEST.

That makes a lot of sense. Is Joe a forum member here or something?

Joe is a moderator here in the WSS forum. He's also a writer for Tactical knives mag. as well as others.

He's also a huge factor in the popularity of the Condor product line of machetes here in the states.

He's such a special guy......:D

I carry both my Izula and my Shango frequently. In many ways they're similar, but they're very different, too. :)

I love these forums. There are so many knowledgeable people here. More than that, however, is the fact that there are so many knife makers and designers here. It's an awesome thing to be able to communicate directly with these guys.
