I have a TOPS silent hero and it has quickly become my favorite blade. But I was recently processing some Florida pine and the blade bent. But in the blades defense, it was some very tough, resin hardened stuff (lighterknot). The piece was probably 4 inches wide. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a Silent Hero failing or having any trouble. Thanks.

Looks like a nice knife. Maybe yours had a bad heat treat?

You might be able to send it back to TOPS for warranty work?

It is a very nice knife. And it might've been a bad heat treat with the differential temper. I emailed TOPS and will be shipping it back to them tomorrow for repair and to put different handle scales on, without the Rocky Mountain tread on the micarta.

That's a differential harden, with a fairly narrow hardened edge-if you push the lateral stress too much that's what they do, instead of breaking.
I'm guessing from the name of the knife and the heat treat they don't really intend it for wood processing

How in heck did you manage to bend such a thick blade??? I suspect you may have been doing something with the knife that it was not intended to do.
