Fellow Bladeforums Members,

I searched the site but didn't find an answer to what I was looking for...

Does anyone have any good / bad / indifferent experience with the Smoke Jumper by TOPS?

My specific question -- is the top edge sharpened?

If not could it be?

I looks as though it is an unsharpened false edge in the pictures.

Thanks in advance for the info.

the top edge is not sharpened, but could be if you'd want it to be. the smoke jumper is most useful as a 'chopper'.

I agree the TOPS Smoke Jumper is well suited for chopping. I wanted to add that mine is very well made with excellent fit and finish. The Kydex sheath is also stout and offers very secure storage of the blade. On a side note I have a TOPS Cochise that I figure is one of the best all around heck-for-stout medium duty fixed knives I have owned...

I have a smoke jumper. The top is not sharpened as it was intended for heavy use and for battoning. Great knife. Like it much better than my RC5
