been looking into getting a tops steel eagle and wondering if the saw back on it is any good or if i would be better off getting the one without it also looking for some general feedback

Being that the Steel Eagle is a more modern Tactical style fixed blade, you might get better responses in the General Discussion Forum. I know this one is Traditional Folders and Fixed Blades, but more so traditional style fixed blades it seems.

Moving this one to General Knife Discussion.

Well you didn't really give us your intended uses for the knife. Is it a "tacticool" knife or is it for bushcraft?
Judging by the pictures the saw back doesn't look very sharp at all, and appears to be just for looks. If you
are going to be batonning with the knife, probably skip the saw back. If the intention is to rip through the hull
of your downed helo and begin gutting tangos go for the saw back. If the knife is for collection, pick the one
that looks nicest to you.

Best of luck.

Sorry, bit new to this whole forums thing. I should be using it just for general purpose outdoors use i would definitely not consider myself a bushcrafter, but i go camping in the summer and live in the country. I do plan on using it for wood processing for fires at some point and maybe trapmaking just for fun. even though my dogs tend to kill all the small animals around here. i dislike almost all of the tactical junk this just happens to fit the look with the grey handles and black coating wich will probably be stripped anyways

Looks like the same saw pattern as the Tracker, which is more of a notcher and scraper than saw.
