A while back I was offered one of these in a trade. I passed on it, but the design intrigued me. Does anyone own one? Seems like it might serve well as a woodcarving blade and (as the name suggests) a good emergency shank.

i have had a paracord wrap version for about 5 years now clipped on my visor. i think you could find a better wood carver but it is sharp and tough.

i feel it is well worth the money.

I have had a couple of those, they are really thick for such a small blade and there is nothing "scalpel" about them :p
They are pretty much just a choory with micarta and liners instead of electrical tape for the handle.

I have one that I thinned out and convexed, that made a lot of difference and made it pretty nice little knife actually :)

I had one a while back and sold it because I couldn't find any use for it. I mean, it was pretty much worthless as a bushknife with the thin handle and it never lived up to it's name,
since the blade is so thick; so I couldn't use it for any paper tasks at work either (yes, it was sharp as hell...).
