Any first hand experience with the two, preferences? I currently have a Junglas, great knife but have been eyeballing a Tahoma. Have not handled one however. General camp useage.

I have both and like them.

The Junglas is really a machete that you can use as a bushcraft knife. It’s a great machete but due to its length it can sometimes be a pain to use setting up camp or building a small shelter.

The Tahoma is a bushcraft knife that can do light duty as a machete. It’s a very capable knife but at about a blade length of 8.5” it’s pretty long for camp/shelter work.

I prefer my ESEE 6 or Benchmade Arvensis for bushcraft work but they aren’t machetes. If you need a versatile machete go with the Junglas

I can only speak to the Tohoma, I used it for a wide variety of tasks, however I did rework the edge to a less obtuse convex.

It did work well with the original grind too, just a preference thing

I used it for, craving, notch and trap, I did some shelter work, food prep, and some hacking type work.

The 3 position handle is really and ace in the hole!
