This looks like a very handy versitale little knife.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

I like it. I'd love to own a TOPS and will someday. I saw this one on their site and the first thing I see is that there is no finger guard. To each his own but I'm afraid I would slice my hand open!

I don't like guards very much.
I like my fingers close to the edge for more control, especialy on a small knife for delicate tasks.
A bigger knife, where one uses more power, would benefit from a guard

It's a nice knife Neo, but, with its thick blade and sabre-grind, its probably not particularly well-suited for delicate work.

That said, I'm sure it is a very nice knife for slighty more "powerful" uses. Might make a nice larger-game skinning knife!

Actually, that's my biggest problem with this knife and the Bootlegger, not much grip security and lack of a guard. If you really like it that much, I'd say go ahead and buy it. You can always make the finger grooves a little deeper with a file and sandpaper. Good Luck.

I've had a tops knife and liked it very much. I'd prefer a choil on the knife but i would probably still pick one up. I'm sure the steel is pretty thick so as mentioned above it probably wouldn't be suitable for fine work, however if you needed a jack handle you're in business. ahgar

I looked at the specs of that knife...3.5 inch long blade...3/16 inch thick.

I'm with Walking Man and alittle edgy...that knife should have a guard.

That blade is not a slicer...its a, let's call it, "penetrator." If, while "penetrating," that blade encounters something hard, the user will have wanted a guard.

That said...I kinda like TOPs...if nothing else, best names in the business!

Tennessee Tickler! Baghdad Box Cutter! Devils Elbow! California Cobra!...
