Does that count as a talon hole? Maybe the boss made a deal with tops:confused:just wondering if anyone else seen that ? Or knows anything about it?

I think trademark infringement only applies to things that are sold for a profit; but since no one actually buys Tops knives...catch 22?

Now that was funny

Is this thread for real? It's just 2 holes for lashing it to a staff to make a spear. I could care less about Tom Brown, but seriously; this thread is a joke right?

No, clearly it violates the intellectual property of Busse Knives I.E. the talon hole

This is trademarked to Busse Combat, and can only be used with the express permission of that company.

it's no more a joke than someone using the golden arches or the nike swoosh.

Like Spiderco has the round hole for opening their folders. It's absolutely something that can be protected!!!

Is it a the hole in the 'guard' specifically?

Yes, and so other makers/manufacturers use ovals instead of a circle.

So, ANY hole in a knife that's located anywhere close to where the edge of the blade meets the handle is violates Jerry's trademark?

Perhaps a diagram will help

a hole in the guard is a talon hole... it doesn't matter what the maker CALLS it. The hole, in that location, is the trademark
