so i wanted to try out a tops tom brown tracker and found a good deal used from a seller with high volume of sales and good ratings. It is being shipped as i type but wont be here until monday morning. As i was looking over ther pictures of the listing yesterday, i realized it only said "tom brown" not "tom brown jr". I have seen other trackers that only say "tom brown" but not as many as say "tom brown jr", especially from tos website. I know it has been out for years and has gone through a few changes, i was just wondering if this is a for sure sign its a fake? Also, its hard to see in the pictures but it looks like there is the tops logo when you zoom in, but its faint and there is a screw missing from the handle. And yes, i know this knife (and tom brown himself) are controversial, i dont want to discuss that, please only helpful info!
P.S. i've never seen the movie "the hunted" haha

I'm no expert, either. Mine says Tom Brown Jr., and there is a period after "Jr." I looked on the Tops site, and their trackers all have Jr, but without the period. Your knife should have the middle screw, however.

If you were so concerned about it, why did you purchase it?

Maybe I am too simple, but why not email TOPS and see what they say?

I didnt notice until 2 days after i purchased it and it was already in the mail. Also i bought it used so the screw missing doesnt bother me really. I could email tops but it says on their website they dont help with this kind of thing. Anyway, i found a BLADE magazine cover with the knife on it and it only says tom brown. People over at another forum have told me the earlier runs didnt say jr and that there have been a few different script variances over the years.

StrangeDaze StrangeDaze , if you do a google search of Tom Brown Tracker knives, you'll find several pics of the knife with just Tom Brown on the blade.
Except for the missing screw, it looks like the real deal. Some knives don't get much attention from the cloners, this may be one of them.
The details in the pics are so authentic looking, you really won't know until you get it in hand.
