Anyone have any experience with this knife? I think its the one from the hunted, but is this brand the one to buy or is it a knock off? Looks strong and well made to me. any help is wonderfull, thanks!

Subaru STi, I have had plenty of experience with this knife and it is a tough knife no doubt. There are better options if you choose to pay more for the quality (Linger WSK), but I do not think you would be disappointed in the least if you purchased the Tracker from TOPS. It does a lot of things fairly well. I have both a Roger Linger WSK and a Tops Tracker (similar in design). Do a search for Linger on this site and you will find some nice material to read and see. Linger's WSK is far superior IMO.

Dave Beck was the one who really gave the green light on the design, and it was his design used in "The Hunted". Since he is no longer making the tracker/WSK, Roger Linger is the way to go for maximum knife quality. Last I heard though, Roger was swamped with orders, so I do not know if he is accepting oders at the moment. You would have to contact him personally.
So to make the longer story longer...hehehe...the TOPS tracker is a good abuse taking knife. Hope this helps! -Damion.

I took my tops tracker on a 50km hike and have trusted it many times on many hikes in all weather conditions and it has never let me down.

For 300 dollars it better be good! for quality i stick to my Randalls but for a hard user knife 300 is enuff to spend for me. The TOPS looks good so thats what im gona go with.

Yeah it's a solid knife.Heavy enough to be a nut cracker.
I used mine on boxing day to make camp and prep a fire for my brother-in-law and myself. It was pissing rain all day and we were soaked so while I sent him looking for paper birtch to skin I set about felling, shaving(cutting wet outer wood off the dry inner wood),junking and splitting old deadfalls for firewood.I even opened our first aid kit withit when my b.i.l. crisined his brand new buck 119 by slicing open his finger.
I keep mine razor sharp (a 30 degree setting on a Lansky sharpener will do this quite well) so woodworking is a breeze.Batoning is real easy because the blade is thick and strong.
When/if you get yours get a good sheath for it.The factory one won't last.
Also, cary a smaller blade as back-up for smaller fine cutting.
It's no custom but it's one hell of a good bush/camp knife. If you can aford the custom WSK than by all means go for it.The tracker is the next best thing and that's pretty damn good.
I hope this helps.

Thanks! I hope it gets here soon, cant wait to use it. Im more of a Randall Made guy but this knife is so versatile i had to have one.

Don't miss with it cause someone will have to catch the remnants fo your leg bone if you do.:D
My advice is to use the crap out of it when you get it.Do everything you expect it to do dig,split/batton,slice,hack and chop. Then give it a good sharpening.A little character will do it some good.
Enjoy.

Have any of you guys tried to strike a firesteel with it? For some odd reason on my TOPS Tracker i can't get a firesteel to spark... :( is it something i am doing wrong? Or is it just that coating over the blade?

My Linger WSK Strikes a hell of a Spark... but that's my little 'baby' and my TOPS, hell it's just fun to beat up :)

Are the saw teeth on top any good and or a worthwhile feature? I have seen a made for Browning version, made by TOPS with a axe type splitter edge on top. Any one have experience with this model, or use the teeth on the TOPS?

The teeth ontop of the TOPS tracker can get the job done... However the little saw on my Leatherman out saws it any day of the week.

In a 'survival' situation it's okay... however in everyday day 2 day use.. i would rather carry something more suitable for the job.

However, the WSK from Roger saws way better! Still not as fast as that leatherman... but way better than the tops.

Yeah...the TOPS clogs up quite quick, but it does a heck of a notch for trap making! My Linger is my little baby too. As I mentioned before, I got a car seat for it to keep it safe for rides...not really but it was a funny idea. Maybe I can get a leather car seat custom made..haha!

The TOPS is a great blade, alittle thick, but it can still perform alot of tasks. Roger Linger's blade is by far a better blade, but the TOPS still can handle the job for a experienced woodsman.

Cant seem to find it at that site... got a link right on the knife with the price and stuff?
