Im thinking about getting a tops tracker. Yeah i know some people htink they are gimmicky.

My main thing is i wonder if i can sharpen it on a sharp maker? Would i just sharpen it like a normal knife with the angles at 20 degrees? or would i need to do something more?

I acquired a TOPS Tracker a few months back and it is a pretty cool design however the factory edges are very steep and could definately use a good reprofiling. I reprofiled mine down a bit but would like to get it much more acute still. I tried a few different techniques and tools but I found that the sharpmaker was the best method for me. However I didn't use it in the traditional way, I turned it upside down and put the two red stones in the holders on the bottom and sharpened it like a normal benchstone. If I remember right I also wrapped some 220 grit sandpaper around the stones and used them in the V formation too though. Whatever feels more comfortable to you. I'm still considering sending the knife into one of the professionals here on BF and having them do a regrind to really get the blade to sink into the wood.
