Looking for more info on the TOPS unzipper REI pikal model. Has anyone had one and what are your feelings about it? Is it ergonomic? What about the carbon steel blade? Sheath ok?

Thx

It's ergonomic if you like knives that are backwards. :)

I don't own one as I can't possibly imagine why I would need an upside down knife, but I do own many other TOPS offerings. They know how to heat treat their 1095 very well. I have never been disappointed with sharpness out of the box, or with any aspect of QC such as uneven bevels or shoddy fit and finish.

TOPS makes some really well made, stupidly named knives. The three I have had have all been sharp and robust.

The problem I have with them is that nearly all of their models seemed to have been named by a 12 year old Call of Duty fan. Now, as a 40 year old Call of Duty fan, I'm not hating on the game. Its just that their knives just have eyerollingly ridiculous monikers.

The Unzipper at least earns the name. It's a reverse blade fighting knife geared for gutting.
