TOPS VS Mission Knives

I am thinking of someday getting a 5-6 inch fixed blade knife with enough quality and durability to be a medium chopper. Already got KaBar and Ontario, but want something else too. Anyone handled both these brands? Any big differences in steel or attention to detail?

Well the Mission knives are pretty hardcore titanium and all, and TOPS ........well , I think their slogan spaks for itself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a Mission MPK in A2... and frankly it reminded me of a boat anchor and had a really wide (height wise) but thin (width) grip.

TOPS make a gazillion models and spend thousands on advertising. Most seem like overly thick saber ground knives = very tough, but not so great at cutting.

If you haven't yet got yourself a Becker or an ESEE in that size range, you're missing out (unless you have money to spare then of course go for it!!)

I have a Mission MPK-10 Ti and, for my hand, it has the best handle I've ever used.
On mine, the fit is fantastic, the finish isn't. I bought it for diving, but it's too big for my uses, so I ended up using this knife on the woods, for tasks I didn't want to risk my other knives, and I've done things with it beyond the reasonable. Because of that, if it was now I would buy the bigger version. Never used their A2 steel blades, I've no idea how they are. Just know the Titanium, and for me, it was a great discovery.
I stress again the handle of Mission, because for me it is the best that can fit my hand: I have already found myself putting down bigger steel blades and grab my "small" and light titanium knife to chop something because my hand was begging for some comfort...

Becker sounds good. ESEE is more money but I keep hearing they have a great following

The Mission or the TOPS are wonderful I am sure, but Beckers are just incredible. And for the money difference, I love the Becker :P

Ive got a mission MPK-S 10, and I live in Maryland, if youre anywhere near Pasadena, I'll let you take a look at her (if you want)
