Does anybody have one and what is your opinion? The current issue of Tactical Knives has a short puff piece on it but they did'nt field test it (not that it would have mattered). It looked to me as a decent small knife design but I want some actual user input before I spend the $$ on one. Not a big TOPS fan but might give them another chance with this one.

i've held it at the Shot Show 2010.

it's a potent little knife, an i was glad to see they made it in 3/16" stock, vice something thicker.

i think the 440C was a very good choice for a knife that might not be managed well, or be neglected, and it should take batoning very well IMHO.

i like the recurved edge, and the wide blade - and the coyote flap sheath i saw was very good too. i htink it comes with a lot of goodies that i use i my ECO HAWK kit - dunno though - looks like it.

it's a stout little knife - toss a small SAK on board, and i'd be very happy.

that's all i got, brother.

HTH.

This thread looks like a knife review but without any W&SS content. Moving it ...

Do the JK, Koster and myrid of other W&SS knives that get reviewed and talked about on the W&SS say W&SS on the blade?

I tell you what. I'll move this to Tech Support where you can critique my moderating where it belongs. But I want you to list those other knife threads so we can see if all they do is show the knives and not the use of them.

AND I want you to figure out where I and the other mods were at those times, instead of sitting on the one forum nitpicking every possible mistake.

Figure it out.

(Tech Support comment: we've been over this question before, people posting in a favorite forum. I see the point but there are limits. I reserve my right to be irritable when I get kicked one time too many in the same sore spot.)

I'm real good at kicking people. Now, where I was until last night was with my platoon doing actual Army training in the field and we were discussing this knife and the Tactical knives mag article. Some of my soldiers thought it might be cool to do a group buy from TOPS for the platoon and take em to A'stan with us. I thought maybe when we hit main post I'd see if any of the guys on the WS&S forum where I hang out have an opinion on it. Did'nt think I'd get crap from a moderator. Good for you.

looks like TOPS tried to mimic the ESEE HEST. it has removable scales with storage inside. but a different blade shape, different sheath, no prybar or bottle opener... and it's twice the price.

and they changed the name as little as possible.

sure, not a direct clone.... but very similar.

If TOPS tried to actually copy the HEST, they have blivets of liquid fat in their pupils. The name is interesting...

The hollowed out scales were being done by Knives of Alaska quite some time before the H.E.S.T. was introduced and years ago, Timberline had survival knives like that as well.

Not to mention Bill Sanders! http://www.billsandershandmadeknives.com/products207781.html

I'd like to see a product review myself if anyone has done one.
I just bought a Baghdad Bullet.

There's a few reviews on youtube. Looks good, I would like the blade to be an inch or so longer though.
